To kick things off here on Video Clips Library I selected this scene from Gordon Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares. In this clip, Chef Ramsay is trying to explain to the owner of a restaurant that’s failing, Sebastian, that serving frozen calamari isn’t a good idea.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like Chef Ramsay got through to Sebastian. During the show, Gordon suggested that he should have a simple menu instead of the overly complex one he had devised.

From what I understand, this restaurant, which was located in Toluca Lake, California, closed in January of 2008 when the owners decided to move.

I remember this episode. It is strange that the people have afailing business that could close any week, an international chef is there to help (I know Gordon carries on though) but the owners still don’t want to take advice and change for the better.

(BTW hulu videos don’t work outside the US)

That guy is just a complete jack@ss. I know it’s a high paying prestigious job these people are competing for, but there isn’t enough money in the world for me to tolerate 5 minutes working for that cretin.

I disagree with Fiar. Gordon Ramsey has his methods and those methods are proven to be successful. I think the man is a real genius and can test people if they are good enough for the job. I love his shows! Gordon Ramsey is hard to people because he cares, not because he wants them to fail.

Most reality tv shows have some scripted things. How many people would ask for help then not do what they are told would help.

I would have to say I totally agree with you on this one. Chef Ramsay is great!

  6. Heidi from Chef Recipes and Videos Says:

Hmm…Chef Ramsey is most likely the last person on earth to be qualified to give financial advice to restaurants considering his own situation. That said, I agree on the calamari, frozen is awful.

Unfortunately that Hulu clip doesn’t work for me - maybe its because of where my IP is geographically located? I think Hulu is very stringent on where their visitors are located due to the rights they have over the vids.

  8. Aaron from Kabbalah Says:

Unfortunately, Hulu doesn’t work for me b/c I’m out of the country now. :(

Great show. Its amazing how many people do not know how to run a business or restaurant.

You just can’t beat Gordon Ramsay in the kitchen. What a great chef! Looks like he’s milking the endorsements as well now with Gordon’s Gin lol.:D
