This video shows an older Southern US lady preparing homemade biscuits. No measuring cups for her, she knows the biscuit recipe perfectly.
According to the info on the video, it was filmed in 1996 and both the cameraman and the lady cooking have died since that time. It’s great that such great Southern cooking talent has been preserved online like this.

Wow, she probably has 40 cans of Crisco in the pantry. I do agree that one of YouTube’s best features is the ability to “keep alive” some of the old classics and long forgotten movies.
Some of the best cooks just eyeball their ingredients. Personally, I think eyeballing is just fine for cooking, but not so much for baking. But, this would depend on your “Gauging” ability. Nice vid BTW.
I grew up on my grandma’s biscuits and this brought that home again. I can’t wait to try this recipe. Thanks for helping me re-live those great childhood moments.

These biscuits look really good and delicious. I really like how it was prepared and done. I wish I can bake biscuits too. This really inspired me.

Nice video. I’ll try making one for my daughter. She loves eating biscuits. I just hope I can make one as delicious as her mother’s.
