According to the Guinness Book of World Records this is the largest model RC plane ever built. It has a wing span of nearly 9 meters and weighs in at over 200 kilograms. It is a 1/5 scale model of a WWII B29 Bomber.

Haha wow that’s a big ol model plane. Seems like if you were going to build one that big, you might as well just build a real plane that you could ride around in.

What an amazing toy! I just saw something about giant scale model planes on the Discovery Channel a few weeks ago. I’d never even heard of them before. They’re quite expensive. Some of them cost as much as a car. The controllers alone are a couple grand.

I can only imagine how expensive that was to build; the RC units alone would be at least 5k each. Also RC planes are much harder to control then people think, weighing in at over 200 kilos if that thing lost control it would be bad. The guys handled it well though., even a nice landing.
That plane is cool, i would love to fly it but i probably would crash it.
When i was watching the video I was starting to think it wouldn’t get off the ground. Imagine holding onto it while it was flying, how fun would that be…unbelievably stupid and dangerous but fun!
That plane is awesome. You could use it as a remote bomber attack plane. Sort of like a doolebug. Do you need any clearance or a licence to fly something like that?
